Seed bombs

Get your hands mucky in creating these seed packed earth and clay bombs ready for launch wherever an explosion of wildflowers is needed. Use the seeds from existing wildflowers in the grounds and sell them as a great sustainable enterprise initiative.

Creating seed bombs is a fun way for pupils to engage with learning for sustainability particularly if the seeds used in the bombs are harvested from the school grounds in early autumn.  They make a great enterprising addition to any school fair and the proceeds of their purchase can be used to fund further school grounds initiatives.

Learning through Landscapes developed this resource for a range of levels.  The activity idea is adaptable for different age groups. For more ideas check out their Curriculum Linked Resources book in the Outdoor Library.
