Make every day an Outdoor Classroom Day

5th November 2019

Has Outdoor Classroom Day inspired you to lead more outdoor learning and play in your school? Take the next step with an application for a Local School Nature Grant.

The Learning through Landscapes Local School Nature Grant programme, supported by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, is now in its third year. It provides successful schools with £500 of outdoor play and learning equipment and a free 2-hour twilight teacher training session. Together they’re great catalysts for change and can help upskill and inspire your colleagues.

Schools in England, Wales or Scotland can choose from a mix of over 100 different products ranging from bee hotels and fire woks to outdoor clothing and measurement kits. Related training helps ensure that teachers are confident using their new equipment and get the best out of it.

Read what successful schools say:

“I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Learning through Landscapes! Since qualifying for the grant, we have set up a forest school area that will be used and cherished by our 450+ children each year. We have started an after-school club and are using the area to support our most vulnerable children.”

Caroline Smith, Cann Hall Primary School, Clacton

“I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Learning through Landscapes following our successful application for a Local School Nature Grant. The training was excellent and so inspiring … I have shared some details of it on our school’s blog. Thanks again!”

Jennifer Campbell, Eoligarry Primary School, Isle of Barra, Outer Hebrides

Head over to the Learning through Landscapes website to apply.  Applications close 22 November 2019. Good luck!
