Festive wishes from the Outdoor Classroom Day team.

As term comes to a close and the festive season arrives,  we wish all of you a joyous holiday break.

However you plan to spend the time, we hope it is filled with love, laughter and lots of festive family fun.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support of Outdoor Classroom Day in 2018. Thanks to you, we were able to reach over 550,000 children across the UK and ROI.  That’s over half a million children that ditched their desks for the outdoors!

We will look forward to seeing you all in the New Year – 2019 holds lots of exciting plans for Outdoor Classroom Day. We cannot wait to share them with you!

Our best bits.

 

This November we were over the moon with the impressive and inspiring impact of Outdoor Classroom Day. Therefore, to finish the year, we wanted to round up a few of our “best bits”:

  • Outdoor Classroom Day (November) was featured 76 times in the press. That’s a potential reach of nearly 13 million people!
  • On Outdoor Classroom Day, an Scottish Government featured a motion about the campaign. It received 27 votes of support.
  • Maree Todd MSP, Scottish Government Minister for children and young people, joined in with Outdoor Classroom Day at Happy Days nursery in Dalkeith.
  • We partnered up with brilliant outdoor organisations such as Muddy Hands and Cosy Direct to produce fab competitions with exciting prizes.
  • Our Outdoor Classroom Stories series kicked off – celebrating the REAL people taking part in REAL outdoor learning and play every day.
  • The #MythBusters series dispelled the myths around outdoor learning and play, encouraging more of you to ditch the desks and get outside!
