We have seen on social media some teachers expressing the concern that the next Outdoor Classroom Day falls during half term for certain parts of the UK and Ireland.
We appreciate that this is an unusual campaign, but as Outdoor Classroom Day is global, our yearly dates need to suit the majority of schools across the world.
Whilst our campaign focuses on two key dates throughout the year, our overall mission is to get children learning and playing outdoors each and every day; that’s why we encourage schools to register and celebrate outdoors on a day that suits them.
We also see this as a fantastic opportunity to engage parents. Here’s a chance to encourage them to get them outdoors with their children during the school break; after all, we want advocate outdoor learning and play both in and out of school. Why not challenge pupils to take on an outdoor adventure with their family during the time off?
Whatever day you decide to hold your own Outdoor Classroom Day, you are still joining us on our mission. Please let us, and the world, share your ideas, inspirations and plans using the hashtag #outdoorclassroomday.
And if you haven’t already, don’t forget to register for November’s campaign. Join the global movement that prioritises outdoor learning and play!
