Busting the myths around outdoor learning and play

29th August 2018

With 1 November’s Outdoor Classroom Day just around the corner, we thought this would be the perfect time to re-launch our “buster” series. In May we loved sharing with you our Stress Buster activities: handy tips on how to ease the stress of SATs, GCSEs and challenging experiences through outdoor learning and play. This time around, we want to prove that any child and young person can connect with nature at any time through our new series. Introducing, the #MythBusters.

We want to show that learning and playing outdoors is easy and accessible for ALL. We know that breaking the norm can be scary. That’s why we’re here to help. Because we believe that nothing should stop us enjoying the great outdoors; not only on Outdoor Classroom Day, but every single day!

Worried about having the right qualifications to teach outdoors? Concerned over risks? Uncertain what paperwork you might need to complete to take the classroom outdoors?

We’ve got all of this – and more – covered. We will be uploading new #MythBusters regularly. You can read and download them here on our Resources page.

As a special sneak peak, you can check out our first #MythBusters post below; an Autumnal reminder that the sun has well and truly taken his hat off, but that doesn’t mean our outdoor fun has to stop!

Keep an eye out across our social media as well for new posts – and don’t forget to sign up to Outdoor Classroom Day HERE!
