Are you an Eco-School or thinking about joining the Eco-Schools Programme?
Great news, all schools in England can now use their participation in Outdoor Classroom Day as Evidence for their Eco-schools Green Flag application.
Outdoor Classroom Day is an excellent way for schools to celebrate and share the amazing work they do to protect and conserve the environment. It’s also a great opportunity for those schools starting their outdoor learning journey to take those first steps. From Energy Police to Scooter Safety there are loads of ideas and activities to be found at http://eco-schools.org.uk/ or https://uk.pinterest.com/ecoschoolsengla/boards/
About Eco-schools
Eco-Schools is the largest global education programme in the world engaging 16 million children from 49,000 schools in 64 different countries. The Eco-Schools Programme is operated globally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), and was launched in 1994 in response to the 1992 UN Rio Earth Summit. Environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy is the Eco-Schools National Operator for England, where more than 18,000 schools are registered and 1,200 schools currently hold the Eco-Schools Green Flag
“No matter the weather we are actively encouraging our Eco-Schools to get outside on 18th May: hug a tree, plant seeds, splash in puddles, lie in the grass, smell the flowers, spot creepy crawlies, run around in the fresh air but most importantly have fun and learn outside of your four classroom walls.” Lee Wray-Davies, Eco-schools England
